INQUIRY GROUP

“A Celebration and Reflection on Our Inquiry Work”

4:30 PM-6:30 PM, Wednesday, May 14, 2008  Panera-Oakland, Blvd. of the Allies at Halket St.

This will be our last formal meeting of this school year. We plan to take this opportunity to reflect on our inquiry work over this past year. We will use this reflection to plan for next steps for established groups as well as to plan for new and exciting areas of inquiry in our classrooms and in WPWP. This meeting is open to all WPWP Fellows. Bring a friend and share this exciting opportunity to explore your work as a teacher.

NEW YOUNG WRITERS PROGRAMS WORKING GROUP

NO FURTHER MEETINGS THIS YEAR UNTIL AFTER THE YWI.

A new working group has been formed to make recommendations regarding programs for young writers, including the Young Writers Institute, district-based summer writing camps, after-school workshops, family and community writing groups and others.

We will be looking at current, past and possible programs for young writers in terms of how they serve the Writing Project mission and benefit students and teachers and how they can be offered and sustained.

The group will work from recommendations in the strategic plan and the Project Outreach action plan and will make recommendations to Fellows Council.
